　　「星云」由曙光公司、中科院技术研究所、国家超级计算深圳中心共同研制，是目前中国实测性能超过一千多万亿次的首台商用高性能计算机，其理论峰值运算速度可达每秒3000万亿次，实测Linpack性能达到每秒1271万亿次。除了超强计算能力，它还拥有超高密度、超高性价比、超低功耗以及超广泛应用等特点。
　　据悉，首套星云超级技术机系统将於本月在天津下线，计划2010年底交付国家超级计算机深圳中心，服务於科学计算、互联网智能搜索、基因测序等领域。
　　TOP500是全世界最权威的超级计算机排名榜。该榜以超级计算机系统Linpack测试值为基准进行排名，每半年公布一次。今次中国首次有两台超级电脑打进全球最高速计算机前十名。另一台跻身前十的中国超脑是「天河一号」，排名第七。
　　不过，美国依然称霸排行榜，在500强中占了过半席位，包括美国Cray公司制造的世界最高速超级电脑「捷豹」（Jaguar）。「捷豹」由美国田纳西州的橡树岭国家实验室拥有，最高运算速度可达每秒1.75千万亿次运算。
